Studio 10 installation of the Content DVD fails, error code 6001
Problem: You get an error code 6001 during the installation of the Bonus Content DVD.
This problem is due to a conflict with an other software using the same installation tool than Studio 10 (InstallShield)
Workaround:
1) Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\Runtime
2) Delete the content of the Runtime folder, including sub-folders (especially folder 0701).
3) Restart the Bonus DVD installation.
Studio 10 takes too long to launch
Studio 10 does take a little while to launch. Please be patient and wait for it to finish. This has been improved with the latest Studio 10 patch. Click here to download the latest patch.
Error opening video file" message when importing any video file
If the message "Error opening video file" when trying to import any video file is displayed, the following procedure will help to resolve the problem:
Note: To ensure that this FAQ applies, try opening the Clown.mpg sample footage. If this file does not open, continue with the FAQ.
1. Uninstall Studio 10. To do this, go to Start > All Programs > Studio 10 > Tools > Uninstall Studio 10.
2. Once this is done, download and run Regdelete Version 10. To run Regdelete, specifically select Studio 10 from the pull-down list and press Clean. This program can be found here.
3. Reinstall Studio10.
4. Reapply the latest Studio 10 patch found here.
Studio 10 hangs when trying to purchase additional content.
If after pressing the "Click here to activate" or "Activate effect pack" button in Studio 10, the program seems to hang up or crash, the following procedure will help to resolve the problem:
1. Uninstall Studio 10. To do this, go to Start > All Programs > Studio 10 > Tools > Uninstall Studio 10.

Studio 10 MediaSuite Upgrade installation fails
We have unexpectedly discovered an issue with installing the MediaSuite CD over a Studio Plus version 10 Upgrade installation.
In order to successfully install the MediaSuite portion of your upgrade, you will need to download and install the following update AFTER you have installed the Studio Plus version 10 upgrade discs but BEFORE you install the MediaSuite upgrade disc.

Will a previously purchased version of HFX Plus/Pro/Mega work with Studio 10?
Yes, previously purchased versions of Hollywood FX will work with Studio 10. Studio 10 should recognize previous purchases of Hollywood FX automatically. If the effects are locked, then follow the steps below for the case that applies to you.
Case 1: Individual packs were unlocked in Studio 9 with activation keys.
Case 2: If you have a Hollywood FX CD with version 4.x or 5.x (Plus, Pro or Mega) used for a previous version of Studio

1. Locate your previous Hollywood FX serial number for Plus, Pro or Mega
2. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Pinnacle Hollywood FX for Studio 6.0 -> Enter your Plus or PRO Serial Number.
2. Enter the serial number that came with the Hollywood FX software.
3. Launch Studio 10 to verify that the transitions are unlocked.

Note: Earlier revisions of the Studio 10 box listed the minimum memory on the graphics card to be 32 MB. This will be changed on future Studio 10 boxes to reflect the 64 MB minimum.
